Results: Fifteen per cent (n = 184) of participants identified as having a mental health condition in the past 12 months. Across most (7 of 8) sleep parameters, the prevalence of suboptimal sleep was higher among people with a mental health condition, compared to those without (all p < 0.05). The highest prevalence of suboptimal sleep for both groups was seen on measures of sleep duration (36–39% and 17–20% for people with and without a mental health condition, respectively). In terms of sleep assessment and treatment, people with a mental health condition were significantly more likely to: desire treatment (37% versus 16%), have been assessed (38% versus 12%) and have received treatment (30% versus 7%). Conclusions: The prevalence of suboptimal sleep among persons with a mental health condition in Australia is significantly higher than those without such a condition, and rates of assessment and treatment are low for both groups, but higher for people with a mental health condition. Population health interventions, including those delivered as part of routine health care, addressing suboptimal sleep are needed.]]> Wed 13 Mar 2024 08:54:45 AEDT ]]> Development and psychometric evaluation of a measure of perceived need for adolescents and young adults with cancer https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:9418 Wed 11 Apr 2018 17:00:07 AEST ]]> The quality of patient-centred care: haematological cancer survivors' perceptions https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21816 Wed 11 Apr 2018 15:44:32 AEST ]]> On-line information and support for supporters and carers of haematological cancer patients: is access an issue? https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:14386 Wed 11 Apr 2018 15:41:25 AEST ]]> What is generated and what is used: a description of public health research output and citation https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24368 Wed 11 Apr 2018 13:16:22 AEST ]]> The price of healthy and unhealthy foods in Australian primary school canteens https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:31057 Wed 11 Apr 2018 11:36:27 AEST ]]> Preliminary development and psychometric evaluation of an unmet needs measure for adolescents and young adults with cancer: the Cancer Needs Questionaire – Young People (CNQ-YP) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:13998 Wed 11 Apr 2018 11:35:10 AEST ]]> Psychometric properties of implementation measures for public health and community settings and mapping of constructs against the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research: a systematic review https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29958 50 % of variance was explained by the final model; none of the measures assessed using confirmatory factor analysis reported root mean square error of approximation (<0.06) or comparative fit index (>0.95). Twenty-five percent of measures reported revalidation or cross-cultural validation. The CFIR constructs most frequently assessed by the included measures were relative advantage, available resources, knowledge and beliefs, complexity, implementation climate, and other personal resources (assessed by more than ten measures). Five CFIR constructs were not addressed by any measure. The relationships of the caregivers to the patients were as follows: partner (n = 8), parent (n = 1), child (n = 3), sibling (n = 1), and friend (n = 1).
